Childlife Sanctuary Foundation is a not for profit company (NGO) incorporated on 15 January 2019 in New Delhi, India. The foundation works to achieve the goals of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, mandates each child’s right to participate in all matters affecting them. The Article 19 of Indian Constitution guarantees the child’s right to freedom of expression and opinion, access to information and communication choice but the policies made by adults often restrict or limit these rights, most noticeably in education.
The foundation’s mandate is to ensure effective implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the local, national and international level.
ChildLife Sanctuary Foundation, a non-profit organisation, founded in January 2019, is committed to advancing the rights of children. Inspired by his experience working with the acid attack survivors and other crime victims, social activist Alok Dixit realised how upbringing and schooling play a vital role and with the CLThe S he attempted to use and promote meaningful education to reduce violence. His six years old daughter has been a strong reason and a source of inspiration, also a source of learning when the team started conceptualising the vision of the organisation.
We are determining effective nontraditional curriculums and methods from the experiences of the experts and children, we are reexamining what we should teach and how they should teach our children, we are carefully exploring the norms and learning from responsible societies and through this critical analysis we are learning to use integrated educational approaches in all the dimensions of the society. As Child Life Sanctuary is just a thought today, the introduction of this organisation will remain as this team is a real time laboratory to the inquiring mind.
